Dr. Shawn Smith, Licensed Psychologist, Denver Colorado

mental health denverWelcome! I am a licensed psychologist offering solution-focused therapy, always with empathy and your particular situation in mind. There are no cookie-cutter approaches here. Treatment is tailored to your goals.

I can help with many problems in living. Specialties include treatment of:

  • Anxiety problems: These include problems such as phobias, generalized anxiety disorder, panic attacks, and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). I rely on solution-focused, empirically-validated treatment.

  • Mood disorders: These include depression and bipolar disorder, as well as managing life difficulties. I can work alongside your general practitioner or psychiatrist.

  • Marriage counseling: Solution-focused premarital counseling and couple counseling, I also understand and welcome alternative lifestyles.

  • Trauma recovery: It is possible to put your life back together after a loss.
  • Substance abuse recovery: We can go beyond the standard treatment and get to the root of your habit.

In order to find out whether my services are right for you, I offer a free, hour-long consultation. This gives us an opportunity to meet face-to-face, discuss the challenge at hand, and consider options for recovery. If I am not a good fit for you, I'll try to refer you to someone who is.

Please browse a bit and get to know me. Information on treatment, cost, and insurance is here. If you decide that we should meet, you can click here to find out what to expect during our first meeting.

My office, just south of I-70 on Wadsworth, is convenient to Denver, Lakewood, Arvada, Wheat Ridge, Edgewater, and Golden.

I look forward to meeting you!
